Livestock mart manger hits out at failure to ease restrictions

The manager of a local Livestock mart is raising concerns that the restrictions in relation to the number of farmers allowed to attend livestock sales has still not been relaxed despite the majority of Covid restrictions being eased.

Eimear McGuinness is the manager of Donegal Co-op Livestock Mart.  She has sought clarity on the issue over the last number of weeks.

She  says it’s unfair today’s sale will be expected to limit the number people which will be allowed on the premises.

The Chairperson of Marts Managers Ireland has taken issue with restricted numbers being allowed at sales while the Minister for Agriculture, Charlie Mc Conalogue, attended a number of public meetings at marts across the Country recently where larger numbers of people were reported to be in attendance.
