The Dail has heard that recent scenes in Bundoran where a family of eight were thrown out of their home will be replicated right across the country should the Government proceed with lifting the eviction ban.
Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny was speaking as his party's Bill to extend the ban was being debated last night.
The proposed legislation would extend the ban, which is due to expire on Friday on a phased basis, until January 2024.
There will be a vote on the Bill later this evening.
Deputy Kenny says the feeling on the ground is that Jesus would have to return and perform a similar miracle to the loaves and fishes in order to resolve the crisis:
