A number of local callouts were among the 2,554 incidents responded to by the Irish Coast Guard in 2024.
Figures published by the Department of Transport show that 44 units were dispatched on over 1,150 occasions over the past 12 months and provided 134 air ambulances.
Some of the services provided included search and rescue, maritime casualty responses and pollution and preparedness responses.
The Irish Coast Guard provided critical assistance to 537 people throughout the year.
The public are being advised that if they see somebody in trouble on the water or along the coast, use marine VHF Ch 16 or dial 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
