Local councillor fears lack of charging points is draining the life of Leitrim

A Leitrim Councillor is calling for EV charging points to be installed in North Leitrim.

Currently there is no EV charging points between Sligo and Enniskillen.

The ESB is responsible for the roll out of public electric car charge points in Ireland.

Electric vehicle use is growing in Ireland with 45 vehicles purchased in county Leitrim in 2022.

Fine Gael Councillor Seán McDermott believes the non-existence of an EV charging points not only affects motorists but affects businesses, tourism and residents of North Leitrim.
