Local Councillor labels situation at Sligo University Hospital "deplorable"

A Sligo Councillor has slammed the current situation in Sligo University Hospital, describing it as "deplorable".

Earlier this week, Sligo University Hospital was listed as the second most overcrowded facility in the country.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh said that although he feels the issues in the hospital can be fixed, the HSE has failed understand just how bad things are in the facility.

Councillor Walsh also encouraged the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, to visit Sligo University Hospital, to see first hand the pressure staff are under:
