A mentoring support service has also been launched for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Minister of State Frank Feighan says funding for the Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training board will help tackle educational disadvantage and equip adult learners with new skills during the Covid pandemic.

Cavan/Monaghan ETB is getting more than €520,000, Donegal ETB almost €283,000, and Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB almost €275,000.

The money will help with new courses and online learning, which has become increasingly important due to the pandemic.

Separately, a new mentoring support service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing young adults has been launched by Chime, a national charity.

Chime is now calling on deaf and hard-of-hearing young adults to get in touch if they require support.
