Two women lawyers from the region will be jointly honoured this Wednesday evening.
Sligo-based solicitor Michele O'Boyle and Leitrim barrister Maura McNally will be jointly presented with the Irish Woman Lawyer of the Year Award.
Maura McNally, a senior counsel from Dromod, is second female chair of the Bar of Ireland, the barristers' group.
She was called to the Bar in 1992 and practiced on Circuit until her appointment to the Inner Bar in 2017.
Michele O'Boyle is the outgoing fourth female president of the Law Society, which is the group for solicitors.
The Sligo native is a partner at her family firm alongside her sister Dervilla.
The award will be presented to the two women during an online gala dinner by the Irish Women's Lawyer Association 2019 lawyer of the year, Senator Ivana Bacik.
