Local TD accuses the government of failing to provide mental health care for children

It's emerged that over 400 young people are waiting for appointments to mental health services in the North West.

The number reflects on those waiting in Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, and other areas in the region.

It accounts for over 10% of the nationwide figure of 4,043 children awaiting a CAMHS appointment.

Sinn Féin TD for Sligo Leitrim, Martin Kenny has accused the government of failing in children's mental health.

Deputy Kenny is calling for a solution focused approach to ensure those affected get the support they need in a timely fashion:
