Local TD calls for further mortgage breaks

A Donegal TD has called for Mortgage payment breaks to be extended for a second time.

The measure, which was first introduced in March to help people who had lost their job or had a pay cut as a result of the pandemic, is due to expire later this week.

There are concerns that long term repayment breaks may have a negative impact on borrowers.

Sinn Fein's Finance Spokesperson, and Donegal TD Pearse Doherty says many people who still need a payment break will suffer.
