Local TD claims the crisis at Sligo University Hospital has expanded to all areas of the facility

Sligo University Hospital has been in crisis mode for years due to chronic underinvestment and staffing issues.

That's according to Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny who says the crisis expands to every area of the facility and not just in the Emergency Department.

He was speaking in the Dail as part of statements on safe staffing in Hospitals.

Deputy Kenny says the reality for the vast majority of people is that the system is broken and it needs to be urgently addressed:
