Local TD says parents are struggling to secure college grants

A Sligo Leitrim TD says many families in the North West are not able to access college grants despite being on the breadline.

Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny says in particular, parents who have more than one child in third level education are finding it increasingly difficult to afford it due to the rising cost of living.

Speaking in the Dáil in recent days, Deputy Kenny says it's an issue that's going to have a crippling effect on many and people are effectively being denied opportunities:
