Local TDs says justice and redress must come before amnesty or clemency for British forces

A Donegal TD says the British government must not curtail further inquests arising from the northern Troubles.

Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle was speaking in the Dail yesterday during a debate following an inquest's findings that the 10 people killed in the August 1971 Ballymurphy attack were entirely innocent.

Deputy Pringle says there cannot be an amnesty for British forces' actions during the Troubles.

Meanwhile, Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Marc MacSharry said justice and redress must come before amnesty or clemency.
