Local trade Unions secretary responds to MacSharry claims

The Secretary of the Sligo/Leitrim Council of Trade Unions has described comments made by a local TD as 'scandalous.'

Ciaran Campbell was reacting to Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD, Marc MacSharry, who last week said public servants are using the ongoing pandemic to 'lie on the couch and watch box sets'.

Deputy MacSharry stood by what he said in an interview with OceanFM's Niall Delaney on North West Today on Thursday last.

Ciaran Campbell says they received numerous calls who called the comments 'offensive'.
