It has been confirmed that the new, long-awaited Community Hospital in Ballyshannon will open its doors today.
In a statement to Ocean FM, the HSE say that 26 residents will move into the facility.

The hospital was due to open last week but had been stalled due to concerns from the INMO around planned staffing levels.
However, following consultation with senior HSE management, the €36.7 million facility located at the site of the old Sheil Hospital will finally open.

An official opening of the new community hospital will take place at a later date.
