Lough Gill Distillery bought by US drinks giant 'positive development' - Chamber CEO

The Sligo Chamber CEO believes that news that the Lough Gill Distillery in Co Sligo has been bought by The Sazerac Company will have huge benefits for the local economy.

The Sazerac brands include Paddy Irish Whiskey, and Southern Comfort.

It's expected that the new owners of the Sligo facility will fully develop the more than 100 acre site, located at Hazelwood House, to create a new whiskey facility and visitor attraction.

All current Lough Gill Distillery team members will remain with the business, and it is expected that Sazerac will increase employment after the expansion.

Sligo Chamber CEO Aidan Doyle says its a positive development for the area:
