The Spokesperson for 'Love Leitrim' is criticising recent comments made by a Manorhamilton Councillor who said children are in danger of being exploited when it comes to political campaigns.
Fianna Fail's Justin Warnock made the comments at this weeks meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District where he asked the local authority to write to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to be mindful of these concerns.
However, Love Leitrim's Jamie Murphy says that Cllr Warnocks comments do a 'huge disservice' to the many young people who have 'led the calls for urgent action on climate change.'
Speaking to OceanFM News, Mr Murphy says young people are at the forefront of climate change talks.
