Lowest median annual earnings recorded in Donegal

Donegal has the lowest median annual earnings in the country at €33,523.

In figures published by the Central Statistics Office, €37,704 was the median annual earning in Leitrim while the figure was slightly higher in Sligo at €39,443.

Donegal also recorded the lowest median annual earnings in nine economic sectors.

Earnings ranged €18,574 in Arts, Entertainment, Recreation & Other Services to €53,337 in the Education sector.

The highest earners in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal in 2022 were aged between 40-49.

40-49 year-olds in Sligo earned a median wage of €43,403, Leitrim workers earned with  €37,406 the figure in Donegal.

15–24-year-olds earned the least in each of the three counties.
