Lowest median weekly earnings recorded in Donegal

It’s emerged that county Donegal had the lowest median weekly earnings in Ireland in 2023.

In figures published by the Central Statistics Office, €567.04 was the median weekly earnings in the county.

In Leitrim, the figure was €632.68, while Sligo had the highest north west figure at €657.63.

Men also have recorded higher median earnings across the three counties than their female counterparts.

Donegal saw an almost 17% difference in figures, 15.2% was recorded in Sligo and Leitrim’s male workers median weekly earning was 12.45% higher.
