A lunchtime protest is taking place at the gates of Sligo University Hospital this afternoon.
Nurse Clinical Placement Coordinators are staging the demonstration, over their exclusion from a pay upgrade.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is claiming that the Department of Health is obstructing the recommended pay increases for them.
They say that the outgoing Minister for Health has ignored a 4,300 strong petition and the Department of Health have declined an invitation to attend the Labour Court to resolve this issue.

It's set to be one of a number of rolling protests in relation to staffing in Sligo and elsewhere and is getting underway from 1pm.
