MacManus Unhappy with 4 day cooling off period for hauliers

Sligo Sinn Fein MEP Chris MacManus says new EU rules which will impose a 4-day cooling off period for hauliers are “not welcome”.

The European Parliament this week passed the Mobility Package that will apply new rules for the road haulage sector.

Under the new rules, there will be a cooling-off period of four days before more operations can be carried out within the same country with the same vehicle.

Chris McManus says four days is too long for Country’s like Ireland.
