MacSharry urges Minister Ross to get 'proactive' to save FAI

Key Government members are advising against writing a black cheque to bail out the FAI.

The FAI are set to make a loss of four million euro in 2019, with the possibility of liquidation mentioned by a board member.

Fianna fail Spokesperson on transport tourism and sport, Sligo Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry has criticised the Minister for Sport Shane Ross for a tweet the sent on Christmas day which seemed to poke fun at the FAI.

Deputy MacSharry says Minister Ross must become more proactive to guarantee the future of football.
