Major Road Safety campaign commences across the region

An extensive road safety campaign is underway across the North west this morning.

The Garda Roads Policing Operation is being rolled out to keep road users safe this Bank Holiday Weekend.

This year's campaign will place a particular emphasis on detecting those driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The operation will continue until 7am on Tuesday morning.
