Majority of midwifery positions to be filled at Sligo University Hospital

It's expected 83 of the 99 vacant nurses and midwifery positions at Sligo University Hospital will be filled 'in the coming months.'

Members of the Regional Health Forum West heard on Tuesday that a local and national recruitment campaign is underway to fill the posts.

Sligo Councillor, Donal Gilroy, submitted a question on the matter seeking an update.

He says it's a move in the right direction but ultimately, more nurses need to be hired.
