Two Gardaí have sustained non-life threatening injuries after a motorist rammed a patrol car in north Leitrim.
The incident happened on the N16 at Manorhamilton in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision, one of these cars was an official Garda vehicle.
Two Gardaí were treated at the scene and no other injuries have been reported.
The driver of the other car, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in county Leitrim.
Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Manorhamilton area at this time, who may have dash-cam footage to make this available to them.
