A substantial amount of MDMA & cannabis has been seized following searches conducted in the North West over the weekend.
A number of searches were conducted by the Sligo / Leitrim Divisional Drugs Unit and the Mayo Drugs Unit in the West Sligo and North Mayo areas.

Local Gardai, and Detectives were assisted by the National Garda Dog Unit.
Gardai have confirmed that a man was arrested and detained for questioning and he has since been released pending a file to the DPP.

Gardai say that is an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the area, including Garda checkpoints targeting drug drivers.
