Man arrested following suspected stabbing in Sligo

A man has been arrested following a suspected stabbing incident in Sligo.

Gardaí say that they are investigating the incident of assault which happened at a house in the town yesterday afternoon.

A woman was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

The man who was arrested in connection with the incident has subsequently been charged and is due to appear in court.

Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
