A man convicted of murdering another man following a wedding reception in Donegal in 2007 remains at large after failing to return to prison.
Police have renewed an appeal to locate James Meehan, after he failed to return while on day release from HMP McGilligan in Limavady on Friday.
Meehan was convicted of the murder of James McFadden in 2009 following the attack at a wedding reception in County Donegal.
It's not the first time that Meehan has absconded from prison. He left an address he was allowed to stay at in 2022 while on leave from prison and failed to return.
He was subsequently found by authorities in the south before he was extradited back to Northern Ireland and returned to jail.
