A man jailed for life for the murder of another man in Sligo more than four years ago has lost his appeal.
Thirty-two year old Simon McGinley, of Connaughton Road Car Park in Sligo, was convicted in the Central Criminal, Court for killing 67-year old Eugene Gillespie at his home in Sligo in Sepember 2012.
He was sentenced to life in prison in April 2014.
He also received a 10-year sentence for falsely imprisoning the late Mr GIllespie and seven years for burglary.
McGinley's appeal of all those convictions was dismissed this week by the three-judge Court of Appeal.
