A man was sentenced to 5 months in jail after pleading guilty to possession of a knife and public order offences.
At Sligo District Court, Judge Kevin Kilraine stated that knife crime will result in a custodial sentence from him.
He stated he wanted to send out a very clear message that it would not be tolerated.
Gardaí are appealing to people to report any crimes to their local Garda Station
