It's understood a man stabbed to death in Paris yesterday has south Donegal connections.
66 year old John Dowling was attacked outside a university in the La Defense district where he had taught for the last 20 years.
Mr Dowling was a member of the Donegal Rubgy Club and it's understood he had a holiday home near Leghowney, Donegal Town.
He played in the late 70's and was also a coach with the club.
Police are trying to establish a motive for the stabbing in Paris yesterday.
A man in his late 30's was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

Member of Donegal Rubgy Club, Trevor Johnston, who played with John in the late 70's, says he was one of the founding members of the club.
