Man taken to Sligo University Hospital following Ballyshannon incident

Gardaí in Ballyshannon are continuing their investigation into an incident which took place in the town earlier this morning.

The incident took place at an area known locally at 'Maggie’s Flats' at the west Port at 1.30am.

The area in question remains sealed off this lunchtime.

Gardai have told Ocean FM news they expect  the area will remain closed  until 4 p.m.

A man in his 30s was injured and was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment.  His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Gardaí have  confirmed that  investigations are ongoing.
