Manorhamilton Councillors seek clarity from local authority on Leitrim graveyards

Councillors from the Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim County Council are calling on the local authority to confirm what graveyards they currently have in their control.

The Councillors are also key to explore the possibility of utilising community schemes in maintaining cemeteries across North Leitrim.

The issue arose at this week's meeting of the Manorhamilton Municipal District.

Independent Councillor Felim Gurn is suggesting that community employment scheme workers who are not allowed to work on roads at present to instead be employed to maintain graveyards.
