Independent candidate Marian Harkin appears to be in danger of losing her seat in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency as tallying continues in the Clayton Hotel.
Harkin's vote appears to be down considerably on four years ago, based on the county Sligo boxes opened to date - and she faces a battle to hold onto her seat.
However, with Leitrim boxes still to be opened where Harkin has traditionally had a strong support base in the north of the county, the picture could yet improve for her.
With 97 of the boxes in County Sligo tallied, the leading candidate vote percentages are:
Eamon Scanlon (FF) 16%
Frank Feighan (FG) 15%
Michael Clarke (Independent Ireland) 15%
Chris MacManus (SF) 12%
Edel McSharry (FF) 10%
Marian Harkin (Ind) 6%
Martin Kenny (SF) 5%
