A 9 day sponsored walk from Malin to Knock is taking place today.
The walk is for Mary’s Meals, a charitable organisation that provides meals to school children in some of the poorest countries in the world. The mission of the charity is ‘To give every child one school meal a day’. The charity began feeding 200 children daily in 2002 which has now grown to over 1 million.

Their is a number of legs in the journey and today the group will be arriving in Sligo. The walk began at 9am this morning and are expected to be in Grange by 1:30pm today and then make their way to Sligo Cathedral for around 5:30pm this evening. A support driver is with the group and motorists are asked to be aware.
