Maurice Rice inquest to commence this morning

The inquest into the death of a cyclist who died in Sligo will get under way later this morning in Sligo Court House.

Maurice Rice with an address of Rathanna, Sligo died on December 13th, 2023 as a result of injuries he sustained during a road traffic collision which took place on the Pearse Road in Sligo.

Mr Rice who was in his 50s, was found in the cycle lane with serious injuries.

He was removed by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
