McConalogue thinks Mica scheme will be accepted by those affected

Ministers are to sign off on a redress scheme for thousands of Mica-affected homeowners later.

The plans involve covering 100 percent of re-building costs, up to a maximum of 420,000 euro, and a € 10,000 rental allowance for families

A building standards regulator would also be established to ensure a similar defective blocks scandal won't occur again.
