Twenty-seven schools across the counties of Sligo and Donegal will receive part of a 40 million euro investment in the summer works project for 2019.
In Donegal 16 Primary Schools and 4 Secondary schools will receive funding while in Sligo 7 Primary Schools and 3 secondary schools have been included.
Speaking earlier to Ocean FM the Minister for Education & Skills, Joe McHugh says the funding will help to upgrade the facilities in a number of local schools that have applied for funding under the scheme.

The works are due to take place in the summer months when the schools are on holidays, a time the Minister also feels there will be minimum disruption for teachers and students.
