Dawn meats in Ballyhaunis will not kill any more cattle from today in response to the governments climate plan to cut herds by 53%.
The Beef Plan Movement held a 'no trade day' nationwide on Monday.
Gerry Pilkington is the Chairman of the Sligo branch of the Beef Plan Movement.
He says that the factory will stay in support of farmers until a response is received.
