Met Eireann issue number of warnings ahead of Storm Atiyah

Met Eireann issue number of warnings ahead of Storm Atiyah

Met Eireann's issued a number of weather warnings as the country braces itself to be battered with wet and windy conditions over the next 48 hours.

A status yellow wind warning comes into effect for the country from 6pm this evening.

As Storm Atiyah makes landfall, a Status Orange wind warning will come into effect from 1pm tomorrow for Donegal, Sligo, and Leitrim along with Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

It will remain in place until 6am on Monday.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service will close a number of parks in the west and south of the country during that time.
