Two weather warnings have been issued for the north west.
A status yellow warning for snow and icy conditions is in affect from one minute past midnight tonight and remains until 11.59pm Saturday night.
The warning affects Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Met Eireann say that wintry showers will give localised hail and snow with it compacting into ice in some areas leading to hazardous conditions for motorists.

While a separate status yellow wind warning comes into affect for Co. Donegal from now and is valid until 5pm on Saturday.
Winds could reach speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of upto 110 km/h.
