Farmers will be the ones hit hardest by the proposed move by the EU to ban lead based ammunition.
That’s according to Sinn Féin MEP Matt Carthy who says it would make over 100,000 shotguns in Ireland obsolete.
It’s understood the move is centered around lead contamination.
MEP Carthy says there has been no consultation with those who will be most affected.
