The Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine with special responsibility for forestry has committed to work with the ESB when it comes to removing trees that are in danger of obstructing ESB wires.
Junior Minister, Michael Healy Rae made the comments in response in a Dail exchange with Sligo Leitrim Deputy Frank Feighan last night.
Thousands of homes, farms and businesses were left without power in the aftermath of the recent storm, while some are still waiting for power to be reconnected.
Minister Healy Rae says satellite imagery will be used to identify areas where fallen trees are obstructing ESB infrastructure.
