A local Councillor has slammed Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly's visit to the ITSligo Vaccination Centre labeling it as a 'PR Stunt'.
Minister Donnelly visited the vaccination centre yesterday and Fine Gael Councillor, Thomas Walsh says the visit was 'inexcusable' given the record number of people waiting for a bed in Sligo University Hospital.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation find there are 99 vacant nurse and midwifery positions available in Sligo.
Councillor Walsh says Irish hospitals are not fit for purpose.
