Minister in Carrowmore to launch archaeology guide

Minister in Carrowmore to launch archaeology guide

The Minister of State at the Office of Public Works will launch an Archaeology Guide today at the Carrowmore Visitor Centre in county Sligo.

Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran will be on hand to launch Archaeology Ireland's Heritage Guide 'Neolithic Cúil Irra' at the Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery at half past eleven.

The guide which was written by Dr. Stefan Bergh, lecturer in Archaeology at NUI Galway is being launched to mark the 30th anniversary of Archaeology Ireland.

It has been commissioned by the Office of Public Works and Sligo County Council.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Seamus Kilgannon will welcome the Minister today and he says it highlights the international importance of the Neolithic landscape of Cúil Irra, County Sligo.
