The Junior Minister for Housing says private properties cannot just be grabbed and taken over in order to provide much-needed accommodation.
Damien English was speaking with Ocean FM News during a visit to Sligo, where a number of local people protesting over the housing crisis recently occupied some unoccupied buildings.
Minister English says there are a number of ways empty or unused private properties can be brought back into use for accommodation.
