Minister signals Sligo to be added to Mica Redress Scheme

The Housing Minister has signalled that Sligo could be added to the State's mica and pyrite redress scheme shortly.

It's anticipated that more areas are to be added to the scheme in the coming weeks and speaking today, Minister Darragh O'Brien indicated that County Sligo is high on the priority list.

Hundreds of homes in Sligo are thought to be affected by the issue.

Those in the likes of Donegal, Mayo, Limerick and Clare currently have access to the scheme and there have been ongoing calls for Sligo to be added as a matter of urgency.

While no definitive date has been given, it's expected that Sligo homeowners will have access to the scheme in the very near future.
