A Sligo Leitrim TD has pressed the Education Minister for answers as to if anyone in her Department flagged that there would be an issue with a specific element to the ongoing school transport debacle.
Norma Foley is before an Oireachtas committee today, over issues facing the new free school transport scheme.
Many families who had held concessionary bus tickets in previous years have been left discommoded for this current academic year.
The issue was raised by Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry today who asked what is going to be done as part of the Budget to help those families and also called on the Minister to acknowledge the mistake.
It led to a heated exchange between the Deputy and Minister Foley:
