MLA condemns incident as Minister Coveney forced to flee Belfast event

Fermanagh/South Tyrone MLA, Jemma Dolan, has 'condemned' those behind a bomb scare in North Belfast where Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney had to be moved to a secure location.

A hijacked van was abandoned outside the venue of a peace building event he was attending.

A spokesperson says the Minister and his team are safe.

Minister Coveney says he's saddened and frustrated someone has been attacked and victimised in this way and thanked the PSNI.

MLA Jemma Dolan says those 'committed to peace will not be deterred.'
