Sligo Councillor Keith Henry has confirmed that funding to do upgrade works in four playgrounds has been secured and a tender for the works is to be completed.
The four playgrounds; Ballymote, Ballinacarrow, Dromore West and Riverstown will share a fund of €19,400 for the works.
The work is mainly to improve the equipment.
The Fianna Fail Councillor says in his own area in Ballymote, for example people are worried about the merry-go-round which has been deemed unsafe by Council officials.
