More Garda resources needed to help Ukrainian refugees locally - Warnock

With the number of refugees from Ukraine continuing to grow in the local region a Fianna Fail Councillor has called for extra resources to be provided to An Garda Siochána to help deal with the increased population.

Cllr Justin Warnock raised the issue at today's meeting of the Joint Policing Committee in Leitrim where he called for a designated interpreter to be assigned to the Sligo Leitrim Garda Division.

The Fianna Fáil Councillor says having extra resources and interpreters available to Gardai will be a huge advantage in sorting out any issues that may arise in the future:
